Our Tobacco Business
Garibala Tobacco was founded in 1969. Garibala Tobacco through its subsidiaries and affiliates is one of the world's leading leaf tobacco merchant and processor. The largest portion of the company's business involves the procurement, processing, packing, and supply of flue-cured and burley tobacco to manufacturers of consumer tobacco products.
Most of the Company's revenues are derived from sales of processed tobacco and from fees and commissions for specific services. Garibala Tobacco conducts its business in more than 18 countries and employees over 8,000 permanent and seasonal workers.
Garibala Tobacco deals primarily in flue-cured, burley, oriental tobacco, virginia & expanded tobacco.
Garibala Tobacco sold approximately 3.8 million tones of tobacco leaf a year, around 65 per cent of it by volume to be used in international brand cigarettes, including American blend cigarettes.
